Thanksgiving Weekend
David and I just returned from New Jersey yesterday. We drove up this past Wednesday and spent the long weekend with his parents. Thanksgiving dinner was an Italian one - - quite a break from my usual dinner while growing up. Along with the turkey, Toni serves antipasta, manicotti and other yummies. The dinner also takes about four hours to go through. We seem to get up and down from the table about four times throughout the meal. She also had seven or eight different desserts. We probably gained ten pounds each.
There were 11 at the dinner. Only Dina and Mackenzie were missing, as they spent the day with Dina's parents this year. Jennifer and her husband Jon were there, as well as David's Uncle Vinnie and his girlfriend, Joanie, and her son, Scott. Toni's sister, Nadine, also spent the day with us, and the group was rounded out with Toni, Carmen, David, Chris and myself.
The next day, "Black Friday," Toni, David and I went into New York City and did a little window shopping, ending the day with a dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant. None of us, though, could remember the name of the restaurant after we left, so I can't even give a recommendation. But it was wonderful!
